I grew up on Pine Island, a small fishing and retirement area in South Florida, where my parents, younger sister, and I lived an average middle class life. Growing up in a small town, you get to experience community at its best and worst. I'm fortunate to have known how incredible knowing all of your neighbors within a few miles can be. My parents are incredible and slightly flawed, as are most of the extraordinary people I have been so fortunate to meet in life.
My ancestors are a blend of Greek, Native American, Portuguese, Irish, Scottish, German, English, and Italian. With so many backgrounds, finding my heritage and establishing a cultural identity took me a long time, but I have finally found the balance I was seeking and I'm proud to be a blend of so many wonderful cultures.
I have always been “the smart one” and a born writer, performer, and artist. I found myself compensating for my serious demeanor by putting a lot of effort into my appearance, spontaneity, and personality to make me more rounded as an adult. I'm currently engaged and recently started my own business, helping small businesses and start-ups thrive as a business and marketing consultant. I love my career path and most of the time, I feel blessed to live the life I lead.
I've always been inspired by the comprehensive style of Renaissance education and strive to learn and teach every chance I get, regardless of the subject. As a business owner, future wife and stepmother, and generally well rounded woman with a multitude of skills and interests, I will be sharing secrets and tips on a variety of topics. I look forward to spending more virtual time with all of my new neighbors!
